Event Description

Rooms 2 Recovery is a website that links patients and carers living in rural areas, with people close to treatment facilities who have a spare room they can lend at no charge. Many patients travel from very remote rural areas to regional centres for treatment in centres and hospitals such as day procedures, radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
Providing rooms at no cost reduces the financial burden of accommodation and travel charges rural families incur, when their loved ones need to travel large distances for treatment. Just one weeks accommodation can cost into the thousands with none or minimal government compensation to these families.
Rooms 2 Recovery has only just been launched and we are looking to increase member numbers and increase the amount of rooms posted on the website and the distribution of locations where rooms are available.
It is really simple to sign up and post a room, and could really help a family out at a difficult time.
